Whilst using my Agfa Sonector LS2 recently I was struck by its similar appearance to my Bauer T510, the squarish squat body, the matt black finish, and the very distinctive fold-down handle.

Were these Agfa projectors actually made for them by Bauer?

I read that Bauer bought out the Italian firm Silma and a number of Bauer projectors were actually made at the Italian plant.

Yes, some Agfa projectors have been made by Bauer. Since 1970 Silma belonged to Bauer. The factory produced a lot of different models under the names Bauer, Silma, Agfa, Bell & Howell, Philips, Ringfoto, Porst, Otto-Versand (German Mail Order) and Rollei.

A nice little projector, the Agfa LS Sonector. I still have the one purchased by my Dad, in the late 1970's. It still runs very sweetly indeed.

Hi Keith, I have one of these machines, do you have a copy of the instruction book that you could scan/photocopy? Mike
