After replacing the Chinon power supply socket on my Chinon E-Bay win a standard 'kettle' type socket (very straight forward - contact me if you're interested in how) I turned my attention to the lens.

It works ok, but the bit at the front that rotates and controls the zoom can be pulled off. On looking at it there's a large metal cir-clip around the lens at the base of the zoom adjuster. In the picture the clip is arrowed and the zoom adjuster is pulled about 4mm forward of where it should be.

I don't know what I should do to fix this; there's nothing obviously missing.

Could anyone with a similar lens post a picture of how it should look please?

thanks Stewart

Stewart, I have a pic of the f 1.3 from my Chinon 7500 that I just shot, but I don't know how to upload it here. The front turns and stops/locks both ways, but does not move forward or back on the lense barrel, even when turning. I could e-mail the pic to you, unless Doug posts it here...I sent it to him.
