Hey guys,
I had 4 carts of older Single 8 film R25 that could not be processed by Fuji. So Kent over at Single8film.com said he would send it over to another lab and it would take a month. That was in February. Since then there have been no further emails and I just heard from Du-All camera here in NYC that they have not been able to get ahold of him to order more Single 8 film stock.
Wondering if anyone has the 411 on him? There were 8 films sent to him May of last year. I finally received 4 of them in December and these last 4 will be over a year old in the processing loop.
I have phoned him 3 times, sent 2 faxes, tried to leave a message on his cell phone but his voicebox is full...
So I sent him a paypal money request to ask for my money and my films back..still nothing.
He has been in business since 2003 and has been very good about getting my films back in the past and his email correspondence use to be good.
Anyone have any suggestions?

They have gone with my film too (posted Jan 2009). No response at all. Bought some film off them in May, no response, but did get a refund via Paypal. The non-returned film is inexcusable. Lets all contact him. Anything with the legal dept round there maybe?

I'll see what we can do legally on this end. I had some great footage on that film and wish I had it back.

Hi Alan!
I am afraid but there is more bad news for you.
I had two Single-8 films lying around in a "German branch" of Fuji that should have sent to Japan for developing. Only after 8 months I received the developed films back, which was a relief, BUT: the colours, so often praised by forum members, had lost their freshness. I know that this is because of the delay of developing because I had one film of the same batch developed by Retro8 and it was absolutely fine.
So, I am sorry, but I am afraid that even if you get your films back they might not be anymore what you are expecting.

Well the film quality is not so much of an issue as it was expired R25 and not the newer R25N. But its the fact that he was paid $80.00 to process 4 rolls of film and then contacted me in February to say that Fuji could not process the older film and that he would send it to Film Rescue for an additional $48. So now I am out $128 Plus the film stock not including the memories.
Any lawyers on here that could chip in with some advice? [Frown]

Hi,

I did both buy film from and send film for developing to Single8film.com but I wondered if my film went to the US then to Tokyo? So I started sending my R25N direct to Tokyo, $20 for one film; but the last film came back (December 2008) and I had extra to pay on it, plus a note telling me processing had "gone up 100%". Add the postage to the equation and it basically priced me out of Single 8 - I don't know what folks are hoping to achieve by hiking the prices to this extent, they will kill off the golden goose if they are not careful?

Widescreen UK used to have a Single 8 service but again, they'd ship out to Tokyo and you picked up the tab; I think they only stock 64T now anyway.
