Does anyone have a PDF copy of the operating instructions for the Hahnel Kollmatic SD8 Cement Splicer?

This looks like a nice splicer...just not as intuitive for a first-time user [Confused]

Hello Janice,

I have the possibility of purchasing one of these splicers and wanted to inquire if you had good results using this. I've been using a Cine-Kodak Duo Splicer but was intrigued by the Hahnel Kollmatic. Would you recommend it?

I have a dual gauge standard (regular)8/super8 Kollmatic cement splicer and another 9.5 model (I guess it is not common). Both work fine. When you buy it, be aware that it works with batteries, so check if there was no leak and there is a piece (sorry, I don't know the name in English) that "limes" the film before you join it; this piece needs sometimes to be repleaced but I don't know about the availability.

"Grinds". It puts a slight bevel on the bottom of one end and on the top of the other end, creating a flatter overlap splice.

Yes ! I've just checked the instructions book and there is an English version (I should have thought of that earlier). The French "saphir de coupe" is translated by "grinding Wheel". Hahnnel sold grinding wheels as spares.
