I sold a Eumig S910 (gold coloured) on Ebay, but the customer returned it to me. The problem is that the main motor buzzes loudly when switched on, with the actual fan blades only turning exceptionally slowly, if at all really. Any solutions? I can't see anything obvious. All I can imagine is that the machine has been knocked in transit.

Sounds just like the problem I had with the Mark-S 710D ... I got a tip of sand papering the discs that the spinning motor moves inside the projector. It actually worked :-)

It moved very slowly on 24fps, but almost normal on 18fps ... Have you tried both?

But the actual motor itself is the problem. When the motor is not driving the mechanism (when it is in standby) the motor buzzes but doesn't turn. The fan blades don't even turn.

Hi; if you think you need a spare motor, let me know via PM.

Best of luck anyway.

Are the bearings in the motor OK?

When you say bearings...how do I know if they are okay?

If they wiggle at all they are no OK. They should be snug around the shaft. Best way I can describe it. If the shaft is slightly off center it will bind and create that noise. If that is what the problem is. I could be wrong of course. [Confused]

Pasquale...I think you are right. If I move the fan outwards or inwards (in towards the machine)...the bearing seems to move with the shaft. Am I correct in thinking this bearing should be fixed and not move? So, how do I fix this?
