To my fellow forum members whom I told I would definitely be at the convention, my Sincerest apologies for not showing up.

I rented a nice VW Jetta 2012 to go. Left the house on my way to NJ. I decided to stop at Dunkin Donuts (cause America runs on Duncan) and when I backed out of the parking space BANG!. Yep I damaged up the rental car. Thank God (thank you God) no one was hurt as it wasn't that bad. However, it was my 1st accident and I was very shaken. So I took the rental car back after only driving it 3 miles and called it a day. I was in no shape to drive to NJ. Fact is, I am still upset because of the aftermath of insurance etc. Fortunately the lady I hit is not claiming any damage. Her car had white marks on it that rubbed off. The VW however had a basketball side dent in the rear bumper and a broken lens. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Rather that explain myself to a few members who I told I would be there, I thought a posting was in order.

Thanks

PatD

Jeeze Pat!,

I am sorry to hear that, I was looking forward to meeting you down there!

Hint: in case you didn't take the Loss Damage Waiver on your rental, check with the credit card you used. A lot of them will cover your damages up to a certain sane limit.

As long as you and your lady are unhurt Pat,that's the main thing.
It's just one of those silly things that happen.

I know exactly how you feel Pat. A couple of years ago I rented a car at London Gatwick airport, and was taking my good old time getting used to driving on the left side of the road again, slowed down at an approaching round about, when BANG, I gpot rear ended by some guy in a hurry. I ended up with a bang on my head and some bleeding from my hand when it hit some sharp edge inside the car. The back of the car was beaten up quite a bit. Somebody called an ambulance but I was OK thank goodness.
This after only 2 miles of driving! I had to be escorted back to the Avis at the airport to get another car. I was shook up for a whole day, but managed to drive the 75 miles to Henley. Next day I was fine and drove to the BFCC at Ruislip, which was wonderful.

Pat,

We're all sorry that you can't be here in Wildwood, however the important part is that no one was hurt. Not to worry....there'll be more CineSea Conventions to come!
