Looks intriguing, especially as the site suggests that they intend to develop 16mm and 35mm technology. Lots of professionals still prefer to work with film at the shooting stage, however I couldn't find any mention of film stock supply and processing. Labs are closing almost daily worldwide and filmstock manufacturers are turning to digital equivalents, sadly.

That's a really nice concept, now what we also need is a new high end super 8 projector that you can put a USB in to sync digital sound to each frame perfectly! Now that really would be something special!!

Allan, the filmstock supply may be a problem in a foreseen future. There are still different sources of super 8 cartridges but the prices have dramatically raised recently which may prevent amateurs to shoot as amateurs budget is limited. I am hoping that Ferrania will be able to provide quality at reasonnable prices but it seems they are still a tests period.

The camera is impressive.

The fact that they sold them all is even more impressive.

Looks fantastic, I would love to see the footage at one of the shows, but at what price?. How many of us could not afford a canon 1014 xls when it arrived on the scene, or a nizo 6080?. Will this be out the range of the all but super rich in 2014, I
think so sadly. The fact that this forum exists today, I hope will of inspired this product to market, I'd like to think so.

Can anyone confirm what the price was as I saw different figures on one article?

It would be fascinating to know about any of the buyers and the projects that have in mind, because any doing more imaginative things than simulating 'old' home movie footage for TV documentaries are liable to be very good 'advertisements' for shooting on S8!
