Hi all, I blew one of my Sankyo 600 internal speakers, 8ohms 2 watts, but when I tried to connect up the other Sankyo 600 internal speaker, which has same ohms and watts, I am not getting any sound through it, yet tests okay with MM as in Ohms test. External speaker line out dim plug are all okay, earphone also.

What else could I check, are there any other Multi meter testing I can do, I have service manual for this unit, doesn't really cover this area more recording levels faults etc.

Although I worked out from it the speaker terminals on main power board , red goes to yellow wire and negative to blue wire out form this board to sound etc area. Besides a ohms continuty test, with power connected, what test can I do on those two terminals where internal speaker connects?

Thanks
Phil

It sounds like a bad connection someplace.

You should be able to take an ohmmeter and "walk" through the connections to the internal speaker and see where the break is.

I think a good starting point is the DIN external speaker jack, since you know the signal is getting at least that far.

Could be the DIN Jack has cutoffs for the internal speaker, which are never "cutting in" when nothing is plugged into the jack.

There was a case of this a few months ago on ELMO ST-1200HD

No Sound!
