Greetings! I have a Sankyo 500 that lamps up but no forward or reverse. The motor checked fine. This led me to the innards. The bakelite back plate on the control switch was broke out and one of the switch blades had slipped out. Re-inserted and Super-glued it back together. However, when inspecting the power board I found a bridge rectifier that looks cooked. It says Toshiba 481 on top and has a 1B 8B om the side. Can anyone ID this and tell me where I may find a suitable replacement? I'm not an electronics wizard. Thanks so much! Happy Holidays!

I have had to replace that same bridge rectifier on my Sankyo 800. It took me a lot of searching but the equivalent part is an NTE5304 - 400V, 1.5A. I found it at my local Fry's Electronics store...but you probably can get it online.

You should check that large capacitor also.

I'm I agreement on the capacitors and maybe other stuff in there. A small part like this shouldn't run hot and often fries when something else it is powering has gone short circuit. Look on the printed circuit board for discolored lands and other heat damage.

Here's an equivalent you can find at Radio Shack:

1.5A, 400V at Radio Shack

-assuming you can still find a Radio Shack in the first place!

Amazon has them too, Newark Yes, Digikey maybe not...
