The output of your tape recorder may overload your projector's input. Why not just use the tape recorder as it is.

If I remember right, the REM jack for an old tape recorder meant "remote" and was used to tell it when to start and stop recording. You won't get any sound out of it.

My family's old mini reel to reel had a microphone with two pins, - one plugged into the input jack (might have been labeled "Mic") and the other into the "Rem" jack. The microphone had an on/off switch that would stop and start the recorder.

Peter, Some tape recorders had a socket for an external speaker. others a Line Out socket to feed an external amplifier. You would need to check for compatibility though. Ken Finch.
