Hi there,

I'm a newbie!

I recently received a Sankyo 1000h projector from my grandmother. I replaced the drive belt so it is running smoothly now, however, the halogen lamp seems to not be working.

Does anyone know how to replace the bulb? I have tried pulling it from the socket but it won't move at all.

Also, any recommendations on where to get a new bulb? I was thinking eBay, where I got the drive belt from.

Thanks!
Luke [Smile]

Luke...Push down on the top of the bulb while turning it. Turn it so the three metal posts on the holder line up with the holes in the base of the lamp....then pull the lamp up.

You can get the lamps on Ebay and other sellers. Search CXR bulb.

I was under the impression that the lamp which Janice mentions (which is 50w 8v) fits the 1000 model, but the 1000H model uses an EFP 100w 12v lamp.

Yes, indead. The -H model uses a halogen lamp.
See for all details:

Thank you, Edwin.

The lamp pins may have become oxidised. Hold the lamp-holder in your left hand whilst gently toing and froing the lamp with your right hand to remove it. Hold the lamp on its circumference.

The lamp may be OK. When removed, look at the pins, if they are white crusted, signifying oxidisation, use some fine emery cloth to make them shiny. Try the lamp again, it might work.

Sorry guys...I didn't read the "h" at the end...an EFP bulb it is on that machine. I agree probably corrosion on the pins.

Thanks so much guys!

I will try to remove the bulb carefully and hope it comes free. The corrosion is probably why it is so hard to pull out [Big Grin]

UPDATE: I was able to remove the bulb with a plastic pry tool luckily I had lying around, was very stiff to come off. No signs of corrosion though, however I polished the pins on the bulb anyways and reconnected it. Unfortunately the bulb still will not work, so I guess I will need a replacement!

Yes, propably you need a new lamp.
However you can first measure if the lamp is ok.

You can measure the resistance in ohm of the lamp. If the lamp is ok the resistance should be around 0,1 - 0,5 ohm
