Could someone tell me please what the solutions are to fix the following problems on a GS1200, a young collector found a projector GS1200 on a house sale, he doesn't speak English so I ask it here for him.
He says he has 3 minor problems.
1. The button to start the projector next to the lamp button, when he puts it downwards he here's a bang in the sound. ( not when he puts it on or at least much lesser )

2. When the projector runs he hears some light cracks in the sound. ( I remember hearing such sounds with my first 16mm Ampro way back in 1965, I thought it were the motor carbons who caused that, not sure as I'm not so technical)

3. At the back there's a button to adjust the speed frame by frame and that has moments it loses contact it seems, overall it works, but it seems to lose contact, otherwise, he could not see any problems at all, sound and picture are all excellent, even the inside is clean. Could it be bad contacts due to age ? or maybe a condenser, I personally can not help him.
If you can please all answers welcome. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all, from Gilbert

Hope it's still not too late...

1.Not sure about this.
2.Is that an intermittent cracking,or steady cracking as long as the projector runs? If intermittent - might be just the volume itself. If steady - could be some grounding issue.
3.You mean some motor speed fluctuation when turning that knob? If yes, that's definitely the volume as no.2 issue. A can of contact cleaner spray should clear that up.

The volume knob(s) is (are) cleaned those cracks are gone. The potentiometer for adjusting the speed I feel comfortable this is also a small problem that can be fixed with a contact cleaner. The one I'm not sure of is the bang we receive when we put down the switch right next to the lamp switch. It's like a spark reflects the sound ( the loudspeaker), it's only when it's put from up to down and when the film is running nothing affects the sound at all. So the sound system attracts the spark. Thank you for trying to solve this minor problem, Gilbert
