Just curious as what you all feel are legitimate prices to pay for 200' sound and 400' sound digests in Super 8, faded color, not-faded and B&W. For example, I've seen ABBOTT & COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN 400' go for anywhere from $35.00 to $95.00, while the 200' version $20 to $45.00. I tend to look for 200' sound digests in the $25.00 range and 400' in the $45.00 and wonder how others feel. Faded color - less, and good color, more.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year collectors!!!

I paid 5 £ (at the Blackpool convention) for the 200' version of A&C Meet Frankenstein.

It seems like cost of certain digests (especially the Universal horror films) have gone up pretty steeply in just the past few years. I used to pay $20-40 for a 200-ft Castle Film horror digest, and maybe $30-40 for a 400-ft Universal 8 version. I don't see those prices much any more. Sometimes we get lucky, but not as often anymore.

I suppose many more of us collectors enjoy the horror digests than the typical run of the mill action digest. The prices of those can be dirt cheap. Some A-titles are pricey (like Star Wars) that it seems all of us have or want. The demand is there to drive up prices, too bad we can't do something to increase the supply!

They certainly do vary, you can be lucky and pick up a bargain for £5, or you could pay £50 or more if you are determined to get the title you wish for.
I tend to put a limit on of around £30 max, possibly a little more if its one i really want, a reality check kicks in for me when you can pick up 1st class 16mm feature prints with two hour running times for 100 - 200 pounds. I am aware titles goes for thousands but that wont ever be me paying those nut case prices. [Wink]
Look at the dealers and you will see some very good prices, CHC and Barry at Indi 8 always have 400 digests at very good prices as does Paul Foster and Perrys.
