I'm a relative newbie to this forum, but I haven't seen anything quite like this. Anyone know if this a decent viewer? Is it motor-driven?
[Confused]

Hello Kev, we had one of these some years ago, GOKO are excellent editors and this one,for us, was very good. It is motor driven and does give very good sound recording results, as long as this one is all working you wont be dissapointed.
Are looking to do sound recording or just edit the film?

Kev,

I have this version's bigger sibling, the GOKO RM-8008. The RM-3 is motor driven (you might have to replace a belt or two) and as Tom said, the recording capabilities are excellent. Before I got into pulse sync, I re-recorded my print of Terminator 2 on the 8008. The audio sounded terrific, however the longest I could maintain sync was a couple of minutes.

Tom and Doug,

I currently have two viewer/editors (Elmo 912 & a Minette S5) that I picked up & reconditioned, but this unit caught my eye. All of my Super 8 film is silent, but as I am starting to convert my films to digital via a Wolverine Pro, my relatives are asking if I would help them out....

And at least one has Super 8 movies w/sound.

I went through the same thing 20 years ago when I bought a new pickup truck - suddenly, you find out how many relatives and friends ya got! [Eek!]

Thanks for the responses, guys!!
