Hi. I need to replace the belt in my B&H Soundstar. I have the back off but no clue as how to get the old one off and the new one on. The projector only has the word Soundstar on it. No model number. The design number on the bottom says 1942LCZ if that is any help. I'm not sure if I need to remove the motor first then the lamp socket as I've noticed in videos. However not sure if that will work because it looks like there is still more hardware to remove before the belt will come off.
Thanks! -

If you enter the word Soundstar in the Search box, you will see a thread that shows how to replace the belt on a Soundstar XJ. It may be applicable to your unit also.

Barry,

Thanks for referencing that thread. I added it to the Tech Index.

The B&H Soundstar XJ is a totally different design than the B&H Soundstar (1942-LCZ) Kent has. I've never worked on a Soundstar...but I have worked on other B&H silent machines of that similar style.

@Kent...could you give us a picture of the inside of the back of the projector and maybe a close-up of the belt area. Maybe it can be compared to another projector.

Here is the inside of my Soundstar. Janice is correct. This projector is a completely different animal. The motor is at the top of the unit. I haven't been able to find anything online about this model. I thought it was unusual that there is no fan blowing directly on the lamp. Sorry for the bad photo. It's a pic from the screen on my phone. My phone pic files are to big for this site. -
