my print was an IVERS 4X400ft letterboxed "Warlords of Atlantis"!

That sucker had green lines, black lines and yet I ran it again and again!

The funny thing was that I bought it used and in nearly that condition and then I passed it on as a bargain feature and it sold, and then I was ticked with myself for having sold it!

Fortunately, I was able to get the 5X200ft French film office version of the same (on agfa YAY!).

With all that wear, it still had most of it's color too!

Mine is a 16mm color / scope print of BEACH PARTY ( 1963 ) .

It's one of my staple out - door drive-in features every summer in my back yard , mainly because I like the music .

But it has splices , lines and has Eastman shift color ( you know that term used now - no one wants to say " Red " !! ).

And I love the ending because it has Vincent Price and an AIP pitch for their next film - " THE HAUNTED PALACE " !!!

My "run into the ground" print was the first one I projected on my first super 8 projector (silent) on Christmas Day 1974 - A 50' black and white silent version of Woody Woodpecker's Fowled Up Falcon with subtitles.
That film must have been projected about 25 times a day into the New Year. Moving pictures on my bedroom wall! The Holy Grail !

You're mention of a 50ft reminded me of a "lost" filmm moment in my past!!!

When I was in NICH (North Idaho Childrens Home, Lewiston, Idaho, it was one step from being sent to prison, I was only 15 but I ran with a pretty rough crowd back then, yes, well adjusted now, but I had a heck of a past!) ...

I had a counsellor assigned to me, and somehow he had gotten wind from me that I liked film, so he brought me a very beat up old movie viewer editor, the brand escapes me, and two 50ft black and white silents. One of them was "Gruesome Twosome" and the other one was "Battle in Outer Space' (A Japanese space film).

Well, I was running those over and over and then I got an idea. I decided to take that editor apart and make it into a so-so "projector" which, because the lamp was only designed for an editor, it wouldn't project too big, but if it was the middle of the night or just dark, the image would be at least three times what the editor allowed.

Great memory! Thanks for reminding me!

I have two, the first was the 200ft castle version of Psycho. My Mum was genuinely worried [Big Grin]

The second most viewed, ( ive lost count now) is the 4 x 400ft feature of Texas Chainsaw. Fortunately, both were never damaged or scratched but they have have has viewing after viewing. Decent projectors and well looked after should mean films will keep going and not be damaged [Wink]
