Hi all, i have just picked up one of these projectors very cheap.I cleaned it up and lubricated it and it works fine. However when i opened the back up i noticed a large capacitor? has blown, it looks like it has been like it for a while but it doesn't seem to affect it in any way, i would have thought something like this would cause a problem, is it ok to use like this ?.

Is it connected to the motor in some way? If it is, it's probably a suppressor.
Many years ago (and this projector is about fifty years old) it was normal for suppressors to be fitted to stop interference on television sets, particularly the picture.
