After discussing with another collector regarding a couple of Perrys releases I have (a 50s Thames doc "Royal River" and "restored" prank film "The Black Hole of Calcutta"), I was interested if anyone here has a scan of a Perrys Movies catalogue, if such a thing exists.

Curious to know what other titles they've imported/released over the years, especially during the low-fade polyester era.

I remember hiring 8mm films from Perrys movies in the 70's. At that stage there were quite a few libraries around. Bream film library, Watsofilms, Barry Evans who did loads of documentaries type films featuring steam engines. A golden era for 8mm package films.

Such information would be useful, but I can't recall ever seeing a catalogue of Perry's releases in the 1980s, even though I was a regular visitor to their Wimbledon shop in the early 80s. I think their advertisements in cine magazines - and reviews of their releases in these and film collecting magazines - would be the best source of information. Some of their more obscure releases, such as the 'Willow Place' 400' (a non-professional suspense thriller that won a 10 Best award), would have only been printed in small quantities.

I think I picked one up at a BFCC many years ago,I saw it a few months ago but can't be sure where I put it when doing a big clear-up. I'll have a look after Christmas.

Anyone remember the Perry's 'hotline' when one could 'phone anytime to hear a pre-recorded message detailing new releases and prices?
