If you look under 8mm Distributors and Sellers in this section, A1 Video has a flat Poltergeist for $150.00. I have never purchased anything from this seller, but you could check it out.

Forget it...that film is long gone, and that website hasn't been updated for years as far as I know...

Not flat, but how about this Alexander?

I wish I could bid on this but it looks like it's not set up for bidding in America. If I find a way to win this I might consider selling the flat version I have =D

There you go Alexander!

The power of speaking to the masses, on a one to one basis!!

Alexander buys this, sells it to you, then he buys yours Evan. Simples and everyone is Laughing.

I love my flat version Evan, and wouldn't swap it for anything.
Scope is just so unpredictable on 8 for sharpness for my tastes
but if it is yours, here is the solution.

Haha. Good thinking Andrew. However the reason I carefully selected the word MIGHT was because I would first be Interested in running the film and judging the quality =}

And with a trustworthy seller, so you shall, my friend!
i have been the recipient of this goodwill gesture on many occasions and I believe it works above all other methods barring someone who has something to hide! [Smile]

I have had far greater experiences dealing on this forum than the prints I've bought off of eBay. It has almost turned me off of ebay all together. Almost....there are a few listings I can't help but watch carefully. Of course detailed descriptions and pictures always help

Thanks for all comments - I am collecting over 40 years and the
Kempski print of Poltergeist in Scope I have bought new when it comes out - but I heard of the flat version and I want to have a look on it. The scope print is great and I would sell it never...

Posted by Andrew Woodcock (Member # 3260) on February 25, 2016, 03:03 AM:

Well I've only seen PII in scope Alexander of these two, but flat or scope from what I've seen, they are both very good quality prints. As you would expect from Kempski really.

ALEXANDER, I HAVE THE FLAT VERSION OF THIS FILM, IF YOU CAN HOLD FIRE TILL THE WEEKEND I CAN SEND YOU SOME SCREEN SHOTS, ITS THE RED FOX PRINT, WHICH IS VERY GOOD AS I REMEMBER FROM LAST TIME I SCREENED THIS.

Still looking for Poltergeist as flat version in any condition -
Paul is not selling, he only sent me screenshots. Thanks!

anybody out there? I am still searching the flat version, any (also bad) condition - thanks

I'm just curious ... why would you want a flat version when it's available in scope?

1. No scope lense?
2. It's the flat version a different "cut" of the film?

Posted by Adrian Winchester (Member # 248) on April 22, 2016, 12:42 PM:

Alexander has mentioned above that he already has a Kempski scope copy, so I'd also be curious regarding the motivation to obtain a flat one!

Posted by Alexander Prell (Member # 2607) on April 24, 2016, 04:24 AM:

The explanation is simple: as the most collectors I am a little fool - I collect erverything from special titles like Indiana Jones, Poltergeist and so on... Yes, I own the scope version bought new when it came out from Kempski - but what against to say buying also the flat version to see the quality and specially owning both?

Posted by Andrew Woodcock (Member # 3260) on April 24, 2016, 06:21 PM:

Nice collection Alexander, and I can go with that explanation, if you're a collector...then you're a collector!

Simple as that, I'd say!!

Nobody has ever been crucified for owning two penny blacks!

Posted by Osi Osgood (Member # 424) on April 25, 2016, 12:01 PM:

Well hey, I can't argue with that logic, and I've had much worse explanations as to why I buy a film for 100.00 dollars when I can get it for 5.00 dollars on a DVD! [Smile]

Posted by Alexander Prell (Member # 2607) on April 26, 2016, 05:13 AM:

Hi Osi, can you explain that you are looking for another version of "The fox and the hound" (not Perrys but Derann) - otherwise for you: the blu ray is perfect and much cheaper...
We all have our favorites! That's the crazzy thing on collecting...

Posted by Osi Osgood (Member # 424) on April 26, 2016, 11:53 AM:

The Perry's version of the "The Fox and The Hound" has some image issues, and some excessive scratches here and there. Otherwise, I'd be happy with it. Besides, NOW IU have a carving for the Derann print, as I know it has to be stellar!

... and "Grizzly"? Well, anyone who knows me, knows my undying passion for this film. Heck! I'd love to have a great color print of that one on 16MM AND 35MM. (I once had the trailer for it on 35MM, but it was a sadly faded Fuji purple mess!) [Smile]

But hey, we are one crazy lot of folks, aren't we, and I wouldn't have it any other way. LOCK ME UP, (as long as it's with my films!)

Posted by Andrew Woodcock (Member # 3260) on April 26, 2016, 04:07 PM:

A carving???

I sure hope not Osi!!
It's a beautiful print and one of my favourites here from Derann.

If you desire a carving, may I suggest a nice slice of Beef.
Chateaubriand perhaps for yourself and your good lady.

It's far tastier and will cost you a whole lot less, as well as being far less destructive in the grand scheme of things here! [Wink] [Big Grin]

Seriously though,

You may have to spend big though Osi, if you truly desire a very nice Derann print of "The Fox & The Hound".
Not too many around now in the condition you desire.
So when they do surface..expect to pay premium price for this one.

A craving! (must proof read more carefully)!

I shall search ...

I shall find ...

Grizzly awaits my search as well!

As the Duke said ...

"Well find em, I'll promise you that!"

There's a flat print of Poltergeist for sale at CHC. It's the first feature on the Super 8 page!

I'm afraid it's not the derann full feature.
it seems it's a digest

Posted by John Armer (Member # 4655) on July 18, 2017, 11:02 AM:

I got that print and it was actually the full feature flat, mounted on 4 x 600ft reels. Very good it is, too.

Posted by Bruno Heughebaert (Member # 2756) on July 18, 2017, 11:17 AM:

The one on the CHC listing is a 4x400 an mgm edition
It no longer appears on the latest list received via email.

Posted by John Armer (Member # 4655) on July 19, 2017, 06:59 AM:

Hi Bruno, I bought that film off CHC's list. That's why it no longer appears. I was in fact 6 x 400ft respliced onto 4 x 600ft reels.
