I have for sale a super 8mm print of the 1945 Classic "BRIEF ENCOUNTER" Starring Cilia Johnson, Trevor Howard, Stanley Holloway,Joyce Carey Brief Encounter is probably one of the finest romances made by the English film industry. The story line is simple, of a married woman who meets a stranger and falls in love, belies the complexity of the emotions involved. It ends poignantly, as both parties realise that their feelings have been overshadowed by the social impossibility of their situation.
The film is particularly good at reflecting the post-war austerity and morality of England. It may change your view of railway stations forever. 4x400ft Black & White Sound originl boxes £75 Plus P&P

Respect Andrew... 2 minutes!

I live in Lancaster which is only 10 miles away from Carnforth Station where the external station scenes were shot. On a couple of the scenes you can see the railway signs with Morecambe and Lancaster on as destinations.

Hope you enjoy it!

Wonderful film by one of the greatest directors. Makes one rather proud to be British. Wish I could be quicker off the starting line on Ian O'Reilly's posts!

If i happen to be off work, whatever im up to, i always have various web pages open for the things that interest myself.

If i happen to be on shift, i miss out, same as everyone else. [Wink]

It is a film ive wanted for some time now and was forced to let another print slip through my fingers only a month or so ago due to other financial committments at the time.

The last time on I saw this in a Cinema was on a brilliant
Digital Cinema Package. It looked absolutely stunning.

Previous to that I saw it one Thursday afternoon show
on a wonderful 16mm print as part of a classic British
Films season at an Arts Centre in Aberdeen.

I hope your 8mm copy is very good too.
