I'm getting an ST-180M from a seller in Norway, but the lamp isn't working. Anyone got lamps to sell or a place for me to buy one?

Hi the best source for lamps from the UK is Bart from the forum, Blue Audio visual.

You need the A1/231 xenophot ( best 100 watt 12 volt available, more + light ) £5 each plus post which I`m sure will be reasonable for 1 or more even to Norway and a very nice chap.

Best Mark.

Thanks mate, I'll order one as soon as I get the projector.

Christian, mind you the postage, so I think that kind of bulb will be available locally. Since it is still widely used for other things. Even in Indonesia this kind of bulb is available in any shop (not only camera/projector shop). So I believe in Norway is too.

It is also known as EFP bulb.

It does look like:

Check with your Sylvania, Osram or Philips light authorized dealer in your city.

Thanks for the tip, Winbert, but I live in the outskirts of Norway, so we don't have many dealers like that [Frown]

Besides, postage for a bulb from UK to Norway shouldn't be too much [Smile]

Pretty cheap then [Smile]

What's the lifespan of such a bulb? Should I purchase more while at it?

Hi Christian,

Nominal lifespan is 50 hours.

You should buy at least 3000 at a time. All from me. I will send you a Christmas card if you do so!

I`d go for at least 3 as you are out of the way.

You should get a good 50+ hours out of these and really lift the light too.
I need a couple as well Bart so I`ll mail you.
16mm is bit up in the air still as I`m having real trouble/pain even lifting a half full kettle at the moment, no joke sadly.

Best Mark.

Pretty cheap then. BArt what is your price for 150w 15v (EFR) from Osram/Sylvania?

Christan, lifespan is not always 50 hours, it can be more if you know how to prolong the lifespan by not moving the projector when the bulb is still hot, enough fan for cooling during the projection and after it is off, not to often on and off the bulb, constant electric supply, etc.

I have an experience that EFP bulb (from Philips) went for more than 50 hours, even, the reflector has gone because the heat while the filament was still OK.

cheers

Hi Winbert,

All the prices can be seen if you look at the website, if anyone wants to know what the shipping will be they just need to click on the 'cart' button, select their country from the drop-down list, then click 'update'.

A nominal life of 50 hours does not mean that it won't last longer. Equally it could last for less time. But it seems to me that using a lamp where the filament is still OK but the reflector has gone is pretty counter-productive really!
