Hi All,
I came accross a new Eiki 16mm loudspeaker splitter (don't know if it's its real name), but I got no specs on it and found nothing on the net.
Does any of you know how it works in terms of Ohms of the two speakers?
Should I consider the usual rule for resistance of objects connected in parallel?

Here's a picture:

Thanks!

Why not open it and check the wiring. The plug certainly looks like those used with Eiki speaker leads.

Hi Maurice,
I've done, but there are some components I'm not able to recognize (see pic)

Consider that it's an origial Eiki piece. Apart from the cable and marked Eiki plug, it came from a technician who repaired projectors (he mainly had xenon spare parts)

Fabrizio

Looking at one of my Eiki/Elf projectors I see that the two speakers in its side cover are each 16 ohms. They are wired in parallel thus giving a total impedance of 8 ohms at the projector's speaker output socket. This is confirmed by the tag alongside the socket marked "SPEAKER 8 OHMS".

In the box illustrated the two jack sockets certainly look as if they are wired in parallel.

I suspect that the two unknown components provide some form of impedance matching to allow two standard Eiki/Elf side cover speakers to be connected for extra sound output.

Referring to the manual for a SNT/ENT there is no mention of this accessory, only "25 watt RMS into 8 ohm load".

Perhaps another member will know the correct details about this accessory.
