Can anyone recommend someone for repair/maintenance work on Eiki/Elf 16mm projectors in the UK? Bill Parsons did work for me before, but he doesn't have availability soon. One of these machines can wait, but I'd like to have the other one in good shape before the christmas break.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

- Rob

Kevin Brown has done an excellent job on my Bell and Howells. I seem to think he does other projectors also. Give him a call on 0115 9113125 MOBILE 07970 851866. His website is K.B. Electronics. He's in Nottingham. Check his number hasn't changed.

Contact Kevin on his mobile number as quoted above.

Kevin Brown did an excellent job on my Elf NT2. Frankly, it's running better now than when I bought it over 30 years ago.

Thanks guys! I'll give him a call!.

Neil, I'm just around the corner from you. Cine people are rare around here. A pint would be nice.

Rob, great idea as we do seem thin on the ground. Will PM you.

Definitely, Kevin Brown's the man.

Yes and the nice thing about Kevin is that he will always have the time to talk with you and gives an honest appraisal, as far as he can, without seeing the job.
Never heard a bad report of his work either. Very much recommended by all that have used him.

Duplicate post - why does that happen?

Knowing Kevin's reputation in relation to Eiki's, I have one or two that I'd like him to fix, so in the unlikely situation that anyone is driving to him during the next few months and could stop off in Croydon and kindly take one or two more projectors, please let me know! It would be good to take no chances with couriers and I would of course contribute to petrol costs.

Hi all,

Both Kevin and Bill have done sterling work for me in the past - Kevin on my B&H 16mm projectors and Bill on my GS1200.

I couldn't recommend them more highly - they're fantastic engineers and very nice chaps too.

All the best

Andy

Kevin has recently put a new worm in my Bell & Howell which was starting to get noisy.
Now, with also a new oil wick, it just purrs.
I have known Kevin for over eleven years. He keeps my collection in great condition.

I would like to add my praise for Bill Parsons. He completely rebuilt the amp for my Debrie D16 earlier this year and it sounds superb. Valve amplifier expertise it seems, is a rare commodity these days and he is a very nice chap to deal with.

Does anyone know of any decent fixer in the North East please as have a poorly Elmo CL.

I don`t think there are any though.

With all the posts etc on top I don`t think I can afford Kevin B, though I hear he`s very good.

Many Thanks Mark.

Some couriers will transport projectors for remarkably low charges, but you have to take a chance by not paying for insurance.

I know someone who got a lovely Bauer T610 sorted/serviced etc but then buggered on the way back, split sound board etc.

If they get to you one way OK you have done well, but if any way is likely to be a hard ride its sodds doings it will be after some serious money time trip.

Your not covered as you say Adrian for damage.

I once had a 16mm machine mashed by Amtrak that was covered though. But I think about 18 months later when they asked me to do all the estimates again etc !!! I gave up.

Are there any home OK fixers anyone knows up this way possibly ? please.

I try, and can do odd bits, but have very Arthritic fingers now.

Best Mark.

Hi,

Does anyone know of any Elf repairers in or near the South? Preferably close-ish to London?

Thanks,
