Happy new year to all,
As it is the first day of the new year i thought i would pop up a small wanted list of items i would like to add to my collection of 16s, or at least these are the ones i can think of, [Big Grin]

I know theirs little chance of these titles, but even if i only got hold of one or two in 2019 that would be great. It also gives an insight into the sort of films i enjoy.

A Bridge too Far
The Untouchables, (K Costner)
Trading Places, (theatrical only)
The Usual suspects,
Scrooged, (Bill Murray), but theatrical release as the TV version is always cut,
Full Metal Jacket,
Dirty Dancing,
The Thing, (Carpenter version),

Lock stock and two smoking barrels
A Fish called Wanda

Are there possibly a couple of good reasons why you would prefer a Theatrical copy of Trading Places Tom ?

Defiantly Mark, The TV versions are often edited for language and a little minor nudity. I once saw Trading Places on TV when it was being screened around 7/8 o clock and within the first hour i switched it off as there were slight edits which often took the humour away.
Also, i took a look at Scrooged recently and that particular title was shown on ITV this year and parts of it was cut to ribbons & lost the impact.
Yet it's OK to show all that crap and violence on the news at 6 that often goes out.(you know the stuff, CCTV of an attack or whatever).

However, a TV copy is fine if i know it's not edited but it is unlikely.

Thanks Scott. I am looking at that one but reading the postage etc there is the addition of £50 import charges to go on top which may make it a bit more than i can pay, especially as there is already a bid on there. But i am keeping an eye [Wink]

I wish you the best, eBay has been ridiculous lately. Popular titles have been going for $1,500 easy. Who are these people with crazy amounts of money? Red-faded prints of The Shining and Halloween went for $3,500 and $3,100 recently. I don’t understand why anybody would spend that kind of money on a faded red Kodak print.

Scot, i was only thinking the same,
although i have a fair size wants list, i dont see myself getting more than one or two and thats only if i'm lucky.
As for paying stupid money for faded prints, (or any print for that matter),thats beyond me.I simply dont get it at all.
They must either have more money than they know what to do with, or they think there getting an antique. How could you possibly show that to an audience and not get laughed at?
At the end of the day if every print was a sky scrapper price i would simply sell tomorrow and go digital. know it it's not the same but it's dam good and the sound systems are better than what 8 or 16mm can put out [Wink]

I don`t get it at all.

LCD looks very filmie and even a DVD projected beats a red naff film surely.

I`m preprared to accept I tend to still stick with film as slightly potty, but we maybe all are in this hobby to a degree.

These buyers certainly were.

I suppose as we loose religion and focus etc something steps in.

Stick with the lower end good value films Tom like MB.
