I just saw the film: Beyond the Sea this afternoon, and found it to be completely entertaining and worthwhile. [Smile] Kevin Spacey puts a lot into the pop star's life, with writing acting and directing the feature. The film has a few plot twists, and an unconventional style to telling a story, which makes it quite interesting.

If you love movie musicals or concert type films, this one covers it all.
It was filmed in the UK and Germany as well.
I can't understand how the NY critics gave it such a poor review?

The cast is top rate with Spacey as Darrin, Kate Bosworth as Sandra Dee, John Goodman as the promoter, Bob Hoskins, Brenda Blethyn and Greta Scacchi & Caroline Aaron rounding out the cast of principal actors.

Spacey does a fine job singing as Darin, and the dancing is reminiscent of a time in entertainment that is not part of today's showbiz culture.
Very worth while.

Yes Michael, this one is definately on my current list of "must see' movies. I don't go too much by what the critics say. I have found that the movies they rave about, I usually find dull and boring, and the movies that they pan I usually like. So I'm sure I will love this film, being a big Bobby Darin fan.

Paul,

Indeed. I know how you feel about today's films. Especially you would know it,
in six months they are out on DVD.

Films always look great on the big screen.
I guess that's why we do, what we do at home in creating mini theatres.

Cheers!
Michael
