British pound now in a lot of trouble. Soon will be at parity with both the US dollar and Euro.

I think soon we will get less than a Euro, and maybe also soon enough less than a Dollar for the pound Steven.

We are off down the Loo sadly.

Best Mark.

Good time to buy films/equipment from the UK.

I used to exchange Euros to pounds from time to time all the year long and stock them in my dedicated wallet in prevision of UK conventions (I pay with a credit card for the other expenses). I still have some cash in Pounds but it's probably wiser to put some Euros aside and exchange them just before travelling in case the British pound looses to much of its value.

Today's exchange rate is one English pound (£1.00) for Euro currency of €1.20.

Is it, if you pay on paypal £1 gets you 1.04 Euros.

So has inched up slightly.

Best Mark.

PayPal has outrageous unfavourable exchange rates. Check the difference with Visa and you'll be surprised.

Dominique is correct.
PayPal always seems to make a good degree of profit out of us, but, I suppose it's also the convenience of one-click buying.

Guys just wait until Scotland becomes an independent country again . You might have to get an exchange rate for " Groats " . [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Smile] [Wink]

If what Steven just said is true, though it certainly wouldn't be good for the British, I must confess that it would be good for U.S. film buyers as, one thing that has held back a great number of U.S. super 8 collectors, it the exchange rate between the pound and the dollar.

My big beef, however, is when a seller will have a really neat item I'd love to have, say a cartoon, and even at 3 pounds, but it'll have an 18 POUND SHIPPING CHARGE!!!

OOORG!!!

The post from America to the UK is often twice from here to you Osi. Or more.

We are just going to have to settle in for the Long Haul.

I can see Scotland going back before long David.

Even just for your farmers sake, ours small hill farmers are worried sick.

Best Mark.

And when I lived in Norwich some 20 years ago interest on savings was 14%! Now, the majority of bank accounts don't even reach 1%..

Decades ago,our NZ pound equaled the UK one and four US dollars equaled it.Twenty NZ shillings(a quid) equaled twenty-five Australian shillings(their quid!) [Eek!]
