My local cinema declares the format being used in their program, EG 70mm, 35mm, Digital.
Very surprised to see in the coming few weeks program Blu-ray is being used for 2 films.

Ours does specify which rooms are 35mm and which are Digital. That is the best thing that theater has going for it. [Frown]

I once entered a cinema and while people were looking for their seat, the big screen was presenting menu option page, just like we have on DVD.

So since the beginning I had been set up to watch a DVD on a big screen.

[Confused]

Winbert, that is the difference from paying a projectionist, and paying minimum wage. That would be the equivalent of running the academy leaders in 35mm. [Razz]

Depressing, and the reason why I'll not be troubling any cinemas in the future other than rep showings.

In my area, we have a local theater with two screens and everyone knows which one is digital and which one is 35mm film projection. In fact, before I started this hobby, I went to the theater and the projectionist took me to both projection rooms. Kevin Spacey was looking old in Margin Call, maybe it was the digital format!

They even had the audacity to screen The Artist in digital format!

A local theater near me, was rented out for a charity screening of CASABLANCA....the theater manager later told me, the group just ran out to the local video store and rented the DVD for playback on his digital projector.

The cinemas in this city dont state if its film or digital and for most folk these days, think its dvd and a big video projector anyway.

Winbert. If I was to watch a "on screen menu", I would tear out the seat and throw it at the projection window. [Smile]

Graham.
