Watched Hitchcock's The Birds last night. I had not seen the movie in decades but, like the first time I saw it, it did not impress me. In fact I found the film long and boring. Tippi Hedren is about as appealing as a kitchen mop. She is not beautiful by any stretch, and is very cold and distant. What Hitch saw in her is beyond me. Where's Janet Leigh when you need her? If I had been Rod Taylor and a woman in a fur coat had driven 60 miles and hired a boat to secretly plant two love birds in my house, I would have run as far away from her as I could! On the other hand, if that woman had been Leigh........ [Big Grin]

I know this film is by Alfred Hitchcock so it has to be good, right? But to me The Birds is simply for the birds.
Was there ever a 400ft S8 digest of this movie? Edited down to 20 minutes it might have been a lot better.

How much you want for your full feature? ;-)

I have the 400' with crap color, I do like the movie, both the cut down and the full feature

Hey Paul I loved Leigh I met her daughter Jamie but don't bad mouth Tippi I loved her and so did Bond. Hey after seeing the BIRDS I never looked at birds the same way again. And if you don't like the movie give me your copy.

Your right Laksmi, I was wrong to bash Tippi. She really is quite attractive, but for me she never came close to the sex appeal of Novak and Leigh, and I did not like her in The Birds or Marnie. Definately on the second tier of Hitch's leading ladies IMO.

Personally, I like The Birds...

I am amazed by the technical challenges that where overcome for the effects in the film. I like the open ending of the film with no real explanation. I think this is what makes it a true horror picture. And there is a 400' digest..U8. It's pretty good for some highlights.
