So, I'm either at the half-way point, or ...

if I have a limited life-span, I'm a lot closer to the end than I'd like to think! (EEEK!)

Oh well, I'll enjoy my traditional meal of a whole Dungeness crab (with hot butter), and pull out some of my favorite films, of course!

Fifty is a situational kind of birthday:

If you are generally content with the way your life has shaped up, it's actually pretty nice!

Mine was, I hope yours is too, Osi!

Same here Osi! All the Best.
Don't forget, you're only as old as you feel, so in my case I reckon I must be 80 next! [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Think of it as...a step, bringing you backwards into the glow of the past, namely; films...Think of it as...accomplishment, all the time and labor to get where you had to be...Think of it always as...Happiness with family and friends, of which you have many - Cheers, Shorty - Save some of that butter for the popcorn

Ones life, is a bit like a single frame of film, but running through a projector at 24 frames per second. [Big Grin]

Happy birthday Osi [Smile] and many more of them [Smile] enjoy.

Great link to that video and thank you for all the well wishes.

I was disappointed yesterday, however, my crab had been in the freezer too long (freezer burn ...yuck!), and my lamp blew out on my CHINON 9500!! (GRRR!)

Besides that ... a great day! [Smile]

Yes Happy Birthday Ossi but don't worry about age 50. I venture there are a good few members that would be very happy to be 50 - me included! [Smile]

Osi, if only you were a collector of European PAL standard Betamax tapes!

That does drive my curiosity though, as Betamax always had better picture quality then the best VHS (well, that is, the early VHS, later VHS near the end of it's run was actually pretty good), but that is something I wish I could bid on.

Is beta and vhs tape the same size ?

Posted by Brian Fretwell (Member # 4302) on January 16, 2016, 05:45 AM:

Both half inch wide tape but in a different size cassette also different head drum size and linear tape speed.
