Damn and blast. I just missed out on obtaining a 16mm Technicolor print of Goldfinger. It sold for the sum of only
£ 195:00p. Never mind better luck next time !

Did any of you guys buy it ?

yes I seen that a baragain at 195 I have a print of goldfinger and I would want 500 for mine it could have had faded colour

David it now seems to have been even more of a bargain now if your asking price is £500:00 for a copy that may have some fade.

I don't by faded prints or prints that are described as warm.
I have lost to much films in the past due to fade.

In such cases I either stick to a non faded 8mm copy or just stick with a Blu-Ray disc transfer.

It was a sad day for me when I had to bin my 16mm Scope print of
" Tales Of Terror " which had faded to red and was stinking to high hell of VS and sticky emulsion.

I don't want to go through that again.

16mm Technicolor IB keeps its colour, but does tend to warp. A warped print is not liked by Elfs or Elmos.

Wow i didn't see that either, although i have got my eye on another scope Agfa film, [Wink]

I havnt been lucky enough to add an IB Technicolour print to my collection yet, (missed the one i wanted back along and well peed off [Mad]

) but i have read about IB tech blurring, whats that then?

Hi there Tom. Yep I am still around but have been very busy with other things lately.

I have a lovely sharp colour IB Tech Scope print of ALFIE in my collection. Its a bit worn with some scratches and a few splices but I still like it.

Now that's one we never saw in Super 8mm in the UK is it ?
If we had it would have most likely been printed on Eastman prone to fade stock anyway.

One reason I want GOLDFINGER on 16mm is that I watched my Derann print of it on Super 8mm and found it was not as sharp or steady as I remembered it to be on the titles. I projected my Blu-Ray to compare on the same size screen and well it simply blew the Derann print into the weeds. The same can be said for the sound too.

It was then if I decided to keep collecting films 16mm would have to be my primary first choice and only if good enough for me.

I recently compared my Standard 8mm and Super 8mm Castle Films horror film cutdowns with the same 16mm Castle films releases and well there was no competition print wise as good as the 8mm Castle prints are. The 16mm came out tops.

I rang on the day of receiving my listing and was told that I was the ninth person who had phoned for it. Not surprising, what a bargain.
I have three Technicolor scope prints and all of them have warping to some degree. Luckily, my Elf still runs them without a problem but it does put me off buying future Tech IB prints.

I just checked my IB Tech print of Alfie this morning and found it did have very slight warping and bumps while stored on the spool.

However I rewound it twice on my manual rewind bench very slowly and tightly and BINGO! the warps and bumps have gone.

I am going to monitor this reel to see if they come back during storage over a period of time.
