I bought the Blu-ray through amazon.uk, as a French import. On the cover its "Les Revoltes Du Bounty" which I think means "Mutiny On The Bounty". I understood the Blu-ray to be region free with a English soundtrack.

Well the quality of this French import is simply stunning, placing the disc into the player, it went straight to English DTS 5:1. Complete with Overture and Intermission. Although this film was made back in 1962 it really does look great. What also stands out is the rich color and of course the music, which must be one of the best soundtracks ever put onto film.

I certainly highly recommend this Blu-ray release [Cool]

Here are a couple of screen shots from the other night..

WOW ! That looks as if it is quiet stunning Grahame. However don't ever dare to claim its better quality image wise or better sound quality than Super 8mm or 16mm because certain people will not be to pleased. [Smile] [Big Grin]

Well folks watching the Blu-ray the other night, made me get the GS1200 up and running today, and run a Scope reel, which also included the Scope trailer to "Mutiny On The Bounty"

Thought I would also put it up on you-tube as well [Wink] [Cool]

PS Sorry about the lack of sync between the video camera and projector, forgot about that bit...

I have the super 8 scope trailer, ( two copies ) the 400ft selected scenes and the full film on Blu-Ray, all living happily together and projected on the same screen and heard through the same speakers. Best of all possible worlds. ( Almost forgot I have the programme booklet as well.)

Hi Steven

I think getting the Super 8 Scope feature would be nice, however I guess it would be still very expensive. I have the flat 3/400ft version on a Elmo 1200ft reel, which is not to bad, anyway here are a couple of stills taken from the trl [Smile]

I have the super 8 scope feature from kempski.
A faded 70mm print will be screened tomorrow morning at the Pictureville cinema in bradford during the widescreen-weekend.

Watched it again last night, its really a long movie 3 hours and 5 min to be exact. What a great way to spend a Saturday evening. I have ordered the original soundtrack two weeks ago on CD through amazon, certainly looking forward to hearing it.

Last night I was trying to remember when I first saw the film at the cinema, but its now to far back to remember. [Roll Eyes]

[Cool] [Smile]

They projected the 70mm print again at Bradford UK some months back then later watched the Premium Collection 3 disc set...as you do packed with extras. Really fascinating and bench mark quality.
Like to project the Super 8 scope stereo trailer and some shorts before the BR to keep the film flag flying but you cant take the quality away from this BR release.

The 4 vintage documentaries included are priceless and the cut from the film opening and close are well worth a view. Also includes a book on the film.
