I have a reasonable print of this film but being an MGM release copy the colour appears to be fading. Can anyone tell me if later prints of this title had a sharper image with better colour?

Tom, I have an MGM print since the 1970s and the colors are still great. Maybe the one you have wasn't stored correctly. Hmmm...very interesting...the box says MGM Super 8 P.O. Box 296, Bogota, New Jersey(N.J.) 07603; and the original leader says Neg.#4 (F.C.L.) Ken Films. No other info but I didn't check the tail.

I have a Derann print, and it has a fairly good appearance. The colors are good, but it needs some sharpening. I purchased this about 10 years ago.
However I also have a 16mm LPP, low fade and it's super sharp and saturated with vivid color.

I bought a Film Office print of this at the Big Screen Scene Revival today off Ian, it is on Agfa stock and has good colours, so I am very pleased.

I'm intrigued by the Film Office print as I have a Derann print from back in the day (circa 1992) which although on LLP is rather soft and with muted colours.
Still, it isn't faded, so when I screen it each Christmas, you just forget that and just enjoy it...

Too bad the Walton issues were edited by about 30 seconds or so. If you play them side-by-side you can see where the edits occur. On some it's hard to determine being that it's not full deletions, but a piece here and piece there.

Some even had as much as a minute taken out of them. I think that the worst "edited" Tom and Jerry is "Cat Concerto", which, while it has EXCELLENT picture quality is a terrible edit!
