The Spiral Staircase (1945)
86 Mins, 1600ft
Black and White
ABC films

I remember seeing this film when I was about 8 years old, and it scared the hell out of me, and gave me nightmares for years later! Released in 1945, "The Spiral Staircase" is a classic thriller , set almost entirely in a creepy New England house. Starring George Brent, Dorothy McGuire, Ethel Barrymore, and the gorgeous Rhonda Fleming, the film grabs you from the first shocking scene above the movie theater to the traumatic ending on the spiral staircase in the basement.
The ABC print is of very good quality, with rich black and white, and no washing out of highlights which you often see on 8mm black and white prints. Sound quality is also very good. The film is slightly abridged by about 8 mins.
If you see this one on eBay, snap it up!

Highly Recommended

Great one for Halloween. My 16mm only film-collecting buddy and I were always amused that the box states Alfred Hitchcock's (!?)
