Hi, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I've been collecting super 8 for nearly 25 years now, and have picked up a few unusual ones over years.
I was wondering if anyone knows who released a super 8 film called 'George Formby - The Missing Rushes'. The box label looks fairly professional (see photo) but there’s no indication who released it and I’ve never come across a review about it or seen it for sale in any dealers list (I bought it off Ebay).
It consists of unedited footage of George Formby in France, 1940, singing to the British soldiers. It’s shot by Pathe because you can see part of it on the pathe website, but this super 8 print also includes out-takes, with different versions of the same shot, false starts, fluffed lines etc. I have read that he went to France in 1940 with ENSA to put on shows for the troops, so it’s obviously from this trip.
Anyone else got a print of this, or know who released it?
