...the sound on your Elmo projector is warbling like crazy and you just can't seem to track down the cause or fix it, and only later do you realize you'd taken off the flywheel and forgot to put it back on the sound drum shaft.

You need a break when you are watching a movie on TV, you see that circle up in the corner and you reflexively jump up to change reels!

You need a break when you take off the back of your GS to check something and then you have no sound. You check all the functions, you search the newsgroups, you check the service manual.. and then you realize that you never connected the speaker back!

When you try to fire up your GS and then nothing happens. Fan turns, lamp is on but all cogs are stuck. You open the back, check the connections, check every cogs and belts and motors, put a little grease everywhere it's needed, waste an entire day disassembling the film path, check the web for spare parts, contact your Maestro in Napoli... Until you realize you forgot to push back the ESS switch to the "Normal" position after your last pulse-sync recording... (True story. Geeky, heh?)

Another good one is when the recording doesnt come out as expected because you have left the machine in double record mode.....yes I have done that a few times
