Hi Ugo,
I am fortunate to posess one of these lenses-it came on a GS1200 that I bought on eBay a few years ago. It's a great lens, all glass components and very heavy, though I don't get to use it too much because of its long focal length-its intended for large conference rooms or auditoriums. Is this the lens they use for the BFCC shows?
I'll be interested to follow this auction and see what the going price is. Quite a bit judging by the opening price of 450 euros!

What a coincidence that you posted this thread today Ugo! Just a few hours ago I set up the GS-1200 xenon and switched between three lenses. The 12.5 - 30mm 1.0, 1.1 and the 25 - 50mm 1.2. I felt the 1.2 was the sharpest but similar to Paul, I would have to knock down a wall to get the distance to fill the screen. What a remarkably bright, razor sharp picture at full telephoto.

Yes, we use the 1.2 at the BFCC's in the big Victoria Hall.

Hi, I have a 1.4 version I think, how does this compare to the 1.2?

There are two couples:
1.1 / 1.4
and
1.0 / 1.2
The architecture of the second couple is different from the first.
The most important difference is the dimension of the posterior lens. In the 1.0 and 1.2 it's enough for - theoretically - a 16mm frame. It means the super8 frame works on the central part of the lens and you know this is the "noble" part of an optics
