You know the sharness depends from the stability of the frame too. The problem is that the friction of the metals works against the stability. This problem is present also when the projector is brand new! Well: I knew some 16mm uses the hard-stones for the lateral guides, and I remembered the rubins (but the crystal too) have a less friction value. So I tried to make this...

The result is very good!! The sharpness of the image is improved.

You may find that the application of a good furniture polish (spray polish is easiest) to the gate and other rubbing surfaces before each session of projecting will help a lot, too.

Yes, I agree with you, but by these little jewels the result is better. I lub my films with a sylicon oil and the path film too.
