Just wanted to say thanks to Brad for his recent advice about FilmGuard and where to find it here in the U.K.
Jack Roe Ltd. were extremely pleasant and helpful to deal with, considering that they are set up to deal with professional cinema chains and not really people like me who just want one bottle! That didn't seem to matter and they were just as keen to sell me FilmGuard as the local multiplex.
Anyway, just had a chance to start using it (it only comes in 900ml bottles, so it is quite expensive, but should last forever) and the results are excellent.
Easy to apply, it removes every last micro-speck of dirt and leaves a perfect layer of lubrication behind.
The prints run really smoothly and quietly, with no trace of FilmGuard on the projected picture and no slipping or wowing due to over-lubrication. Perfect!
By far the best film cleaner I have ever used (and I've tried most of 'em)
Thanks again Brad!

Rob,
Without wishing to bore the forum even more can I just ask how you applied it?
Also, I hear Thermofilm has a shelf life, does this also apply to Filmguard?

Can you also tell us Rob if it really is perfume free.
Looks like we will have to try this Tony.
Chris.

FilmGuard does not have a limited shelf life. It'll last a long, long time.
It does have an odour, but it doesn't smell bad, and it's not very strong.

Will Film Guard clean-up or hide those pesky "sandpapered" type of black scratches that dominate film prints that were not cleaned properly?
Best,
Michael

Hi Rob, how much was it for the big bottle and what was the post please.
I wonder if anyone in the Uk bottles it up in 250mll or 500ml bottles.
Mind you one of those will last forever-ish on my few bits.
Thanks, Best Mark.
Do you fancy selling it Ian, have you got time!!!!!
Ps thermofilm doesn`t go off for years and years, unless you leave the lid off of course and its just spirited away.

It should. At the very least you'll be better off than you were.
