Hi Doug,
Thought you might be interested in adding this one to your collection! Not often that you see Heurtier's on this side of the pond.

Paul,

What a beauty! I checked out the link to the other photos and this is one cool looking machine. Very interesting threading path....almost looks like the playback head is too far away from the gate for proper sync. Unfortunately at this time it appears I've run out of both space and money! [Frown]
Thanks!

Doug

Hi Doug,
Yes I think you are correct about the position of the sound head being too far away for normal sync, looks almost like an add-on unit. Sure is an impressive looking piece though, and would be a great display item and conversation piece.
Doug, you never reported back to the forum on the Eumig 940 that you recently got off eBay. Your lack of comment leads me to believe that you were perhaps disappointed with the machine. If so, I am sorry for steering you in that direction.

Paul,

Alan Rik had also posted asking when he could expect my review. I would like to wait till I've had a chance to do some re-recording before I critique the Eumig. I apologize, but work has been so busy that I haven't screened anything this month.
Paul, I am not disappointed at all! It's a lovely machine, very similar to the Bauer in certain aspects, and I'm thrilled that you led me to it. It's very frustrating that I can't take the time yet to properly test it. I've run a couple of short films through it and the audio playback is top notch. While I'm not going to wish for a work slowdown yet, I do hope I get a full day or two soon to put the 940 to the test.

Doug

Gents,
I confirm re: place of sound heads. They are further away than on other projectors. At the time of production, you had to send back your films to Heurtier in order to have them resynched. Have a look here for a schematic.

The Heurtier sold for $71.00!!!!. Who says you can't get great deals on eBay!
