Hi, Just back from a short trip to sunny Rome (yes I picked the timing just right!). Enjoying a meal in a little pizza place I noticed the walls adorned with pictures of film stars, scenes, directors etc. Many of them had a connection with Rome and this set me thinking about how many films were available on super 8 (or 16mm) that had such a connection with Rome. La Dolce Vita, the mini racing scene from the original Italian Job. There was a picture of Laurel and Hardy also but I am not sure if this was connected to Rome or not

Care to enlighten me further you film buffs out there? [Confused]

Ciao Tony,

In Super 8mm, the historical epics Ben Hur (feature), The Fall of the Roman Empire (feature) and The Robe (digest) were shot in Rome. In 16mm, I'm sure somewhere out there are prints of Roman Holiday, The Bicycle Thief, La Dolce Vita, 8 1/2, City of Women, Nights of Cabiria, Open City.......
