Hi Kevin,
Dunno if I should be writing privately or on the list...I see in the archives that you may have a schematic, tho' maybe not for my model (ST-600M)...the circuit board is marked ST-600A. If you have the relevant schematic, can you email it?
I had thought there'd be speed trimming pots; enigmatically there are two holes at the top of the board marked P1 and P2. What gives?
My 'perfect working order' ebay machine came with its VU meter frozen in the red. As I don't think I'll be recording, I don't suppose this matters (other than probably paying too much for the machine [$140]). Or does it? It's a little annoying aesthetically. But even if a replacement meter were available, it looks as though major disassembly would be needed to install. Dangerous surgery for an otherwise nicely running machine.

Send me a private message with your email address and I'll sort that for you. I have seen the meters stuck on these machines before. Its a case of taking the amp out to get to the meter and then stripping the meter down. They get a bit sticky with age. Tapping the meter gently on its front cover can also free them up sometimes.
There are adjustments for the speeds but why do you need to touch these? There should be 2 speed control pots on the small motor control board but only adjust if you really need to.
Kev.
