Well, my speculative purchase from Europe arrived. It's a REVUE LUX SOUND 310. Looks in good shape apart from the described rear spindle being broken. Part of it is there, enough to sit the reel on, but half is missing so it wont clip the reel in place. The mechanism inside works and turns the spindle round so I'm looking at a way of mending or repairing the plastic body.
Before I go off and try to mould something to fit can anybody recommend a place that might have odds and sods such as replacement spindles lying around? I guess it isn't a generic fitting; that would be too much to hope for, I suppose!
The machine doesn't seem to be multi-voltage and says 220v on the back. Now that UK is "sort of" harmonised to 230v would there be any serious consequences (bulbs/fuses blown!) for plugging this in to a UK socket or is a step down transformer still required?
Cheers, chaps.

Don't know about the spindle... (am I correct in assuming that this projector is the same as a Chinon SP-330?) but as for the voltage, go right ahead and plug 'er in. The difference between 220V and 230V is negligible - in fact, many moons ago while I was still living in Germany, they upped the voltage from 220V to 230V because the average home's electricity use had increased so much over the years (and put a strain on the national electric grid) that the voltage bump was necessary to help prevent sags and brownouts. Imagine that!

Hi Johnny,
The REVUE LUX SOUND 310 was made by EUMIG, Austria for the homeorder-company Quelle in Nuernberg, therefor the lable "Revue".
Open the backside and you can change easily from 220V to 230 V.
What is a "spindle"? Don´t know the german word of this word. What does this part doing?
Can you upload pictures about?

Andreas,
(all others, forgive me for momentarily breaking out into German here)
- ein "spindle" ist ein Spulendorn, also das Ding, auf das eine Spule aufgesteckt und befestigt wird. Ganz einfach

ahh, Jan ho capito ...
Sounds like our "Spindel", but remembers me only Grimm fairy tails...
Johnny, have a lot of damaged projectors here, also an "Revue Lux Sound 510" which is similar to the "310". The spindle is the same. Would send you the spindle against postage, about 6 EUR.

Bister and Eggeling, what a fantastic duo you two make.
Muchos gracias for both the information and the "spindle" offer. I'm sorry if spindle wasn't the correct term to use, I'm still finding my way around this cine projector business.
The Revue 310 has pleased me greatly. It arrived very badly packaged and had a small-ish crack on the plastic back cover which either hadn't been described in the advert or happened in transit. However, after getting an answer to the voltage question I plugged 'er in and off she went. Like a dream. Very happy with her.
I actually managed to find a spool that would stay on the damaged spindle but the other spools I have fall off. So if I damage that spool then I'm kaput for the future. Therefore, I will happily take up your kind offer of a spindle from your damaged Revue 510 as long as I'm not jeopardising a future projector sale for you.
The projector was actually bought from Germany so here is the definitive description of the "spindle" problem!
"Das Gerät läuft einwandfrei.
Ein kleiner Mangel ist da, und zwar:
Der kleine Stift wo die Hintere Spule drauf kommt
ist beschädigt (Siehe Bild)
man kann die Spule darauf setzen aber Sie lässt sich nicht befestigen."
Andreas, if you PM me your Paypal email address I'll whizz something off to you asap.
You don't happen to have a PDF of the manual do you, or at least a sheet detailing the maintenance/cleaning methods for these babies?
Is the Revue 310 actually based on any of the authentic Eumig models? Which manual would match it the most?
Again, thanks go to both of you chaps.
Cheers,
JS

Hi Johnny,
... I don´t have a manual.... and if I had one it would be in German only.
Will sent a private message about details of the spindle.
