Hi-

I just saw a Eumig 804 two track for sale at a local flea market. I was thinking about taking a film up there and testing it to see if it works o k and maybe purchase it as a back-up-back-up projector.

I haven't heard too much about this model. Can anyone recommend it? What are its pros and cons?

Eumig 2 track 804 model? This is a first for me.
Is it possible that it is a dual gauge machine and if you
place the sound switch between 'N' & 'S' it will then play both
tracks?

I know Eumig made a Sonomatic 824 model that's 2-track capable... I don't suppose the '2' in 824 withered over the years and now looks like a zero... [Big Grin]

I had a Eumig 802 back in the 70's. It was mostly all white. This 804 is all black, and as usual with Eumigs, mostly all metal.

One thing I noticed is the lens- Its a 1.6! It seems that a lens like that would not put out a very good picture. The bulb capacity is 100 watt.

If anyone else out there knows anything about this projector, please respond.

I've found very little on this 804 via Google, but here's a picture courtesy of mondofoto.com:

And it is indeed a dual-gauge, 2-track projector. My guess is that it plays and records either track 1 or track 2 (which is the single magnetic track for standard 8mm films), but can't play back both. But that's just a guess.

Yep, thats the one.

As far as purchasing it, I'm not sure, since I don't really need one right now. They want $60.00 for it. It looks a little scratched up, but if I get time to take a film up there to test and it plays well, I might be tempted to get it.

It records on both tracks separately, but it can play them back simultaneously. Very silent, and you can replace the lens if you want.
