Hi the REDDITCH REGAL is taking shape ( my single garage )and i am working on a sound change over system using latching relays, and am wondering if i will pick up some noise interferance when the relays change state, what would be the most suitable voltage to use and AC or DC ?
Ps the posting about the silent majority worked on me.

Hi Martyn, Glad to see you posting. I would say that you have got to use DC on your relays otherwise they will chatter. Probably 12 - 24Volts would be the norm. I doubt really if you will get too much problem with interferance. The thing to do is make sure you have a capacitor of say 1uf accross all switch contacts as that is where you will get any clicks etc from.

This will seem alittle strange, but hey, it works like a charm.

I use a VCR/DVD/LD video source as audio only with remote control. Projector 1 as VCR and Projector 2 as DVD.

Simply purchase the device that is separate from your receiver, and make sure it is AC powered. It would also help if it comes with a remote, or can learn a remote that you could have as a spare.

If running with the ST1200HD (this machine has two sets of outputs, but does not have a mono/stereo switch) then purchase two identical units. From the 1200HD outputs, run aux out to input switch DVD and sound output moni1 moni 2 as VCR. From this first box run it's output to the second box as projector 1 or projector 2. In this method, you have a box working as a mono/stereo switch for the st1200HD; and a second box switching sound to the receiver from a pair of machines. If you are confused by this, please send me your email address, and I can send you pictures of my setup that shows how to do this.

No pops, just great sound changeovers. Didn't have to build a thing!
