In the latest FFTC edition a letter mentions the entrance to the market of a new s-8 film -not Ektachrome 64 T- in collaboration with Fuji. It is said it has been tested with good results,and price will include processing.
Just two questions I preferred to make from the Forum rather than contact film-super8.de, so that more people come to knowledge of this development:
--How much does it(or will,if it isn't in the market yet)cost?
--Is there an interest that it is imported in the UK? Does anyone know anything more about it?

I very much hope that this will help keep S-8 filming alive!

Yanis,

the film you mention, based on the Fuji Velvia 50, is called "Cinevia" and is available from GK-FILM (Gottfried Klose) in Bielefeld/Germany. I have seen a demo reel of this stock at the famous "Filmbörse Waghäusel" in October 2005, and it really looked great. On their flyer, GK-Film state, that the price for one cartridge including processing will be between EURO 19,00 and 24,50 - depending on how much it will cost them to have the cartridges manufactured. For owners of re-loadable (Russian?) 50ft cartridges or owners of 200- or 400ft "Supermags", the same Fuji stock is available ON CORES from WITTNER/Germany. It is called "Wittner Chrome V50D" there and priced at EURO 12,90 for 50ft (remember: on core only and without processing). It is also announced that RETRO ENTERPRISES (Tak Kohyama) in Japan are going to offer the Velvia 50 stock in Single-8 cartridges in the near future.
Other raw stock news: WITTNER is now selling Ektachrome 100D in Super 8 cartridges. They call it "Wittner Chrome 100D". Price is EURO 19,90 for one 50ft cartridge without processing.(http://www.wittner-kinotechnik.de/home.php). And I was amazed to see on RETRO ENTERTAINMENT's website (http://film.club.ne.jp/english/single_8film.htm), that they have already introduced a new Single 8 black and white stock called "Retro X".
Seems fantastic times for Super 8 and Single 8!

price is preliminary, the correct selling price will be established during the next few weeks.

An interest for selling "Cinevia" in the UK should be found. I did already write to Tony Shapps ("The Widescreen Centre") about this idea...

Or have you any ideas folks?

A big 'danke schoen'to both Eberhard and Uwe for their reply;it seems indeed that S-8 making is finally decoupling itself from dependence on Kodak, which can only be good news!It looks further as if Germany's becoming the capital of film-making in Europe-as a motto from the 80's goes, weiter so, Deutschland!
I do wish and hope that the UK will not be left behind these good developments; let's all do our best to keep 8mm film-making going!
