Hi all,
I would like to buy the bulb friom the second market.
Do you have the save way to check the bulb?
1. My friends say that checking their poles using voltage meter wil give some shock that is harm for the filament? Is it true? or is it save to use voltage meter
2. We can see that the fillament is OK, but how we coul dbe sure that someone has never touched it befire (as you have known that our finger prints can burn the bulb suddenly)
3. Referring no. 2 to make everyhting be sure, can we clean the fillament using Alcohol 70%?
thanks,
winbert

It is perfectly safe to use a multi-meter to check for continuity. If the reading is high you are coming across resistance, make sure that both pins are clean & not oxidised.

Winbert, As craig says using a multimeter will not harm the bulb. The resistance accross the pins of a good lamp should be fairly low, a few ohms. High resistance or no resistance will mean that the bulb is no good.
I clean the lamp itself with Isopropyl Alcohol to remove any grease and again this will not harm the lamp.
