I have set a small competition in my latest issue (listed on THE BFCC SITE ) and it's for a £25 Credit Note which can be used on anything in my lists. To say the response has been slow (or is it just apathy) is an understatement, so I thought as I have listed on THE BFCC SITE, and is freely available to everyone, I thought I would highlight it here on THE FORUM, to the Reel Collectors.

There are only 5 questions, and the first one drawn out on the 1st of November 2006 will win the CREDIT NOTE of £25.

Q.1) What was the name of the 1st Disney film to get an "A" Certificate in the U.K. (P.G. nowadays)

Q.2) Gene Barry starred in the original and had a cameo in the remake, name the film

Q.3) Name the 1st film of each sequel listed: "A Shot In The Dark" & "Rooster Cogburn"

Q.4) Name the famous Lioness from the film "Born Free"

Q.5) Find the number, add the numbers of the films from their description: Disney animated film about spotted dogs + how many days Charlton Heston spent in Peking

That's it, apart from 1 quite hardish question, I think most collectors should get the answers, so if you fancy getting your hands on that £25 CREDIT NOTE for only using your brain, then send your answers to me at indi8films@aol.com . CLOSING DATE 31st October 2006.

Hey Barry, I tried to send the answers to you, for your 25 pound credit, but for the life of me, I don't know what damned server my yahoo mail uses, so I couldn't send my e-mail to you by the link given below, is there any other way to send you the answers AS I REALLY WOULD LIKE THAT CREDIT!!

(By the way, this is a common gripe with your e-mail service, as most people don't know what "server" thier mail uses, so they can't use that particular e-mail sevice. If you find that you don't get as many replies as you'd like, that might be why.)

Osi,

This seems strange as you've emailed me before, so I can't understand it, try again, if that doesn't work then try sending me a private message via The Forum with your answers.

Osi I've emailed you direct, try replying to that email.

Barry.

Come on guys, have a go at my quiz, I've had some all correct entries already, so it can't be that hard, you've got plenty of time, as the closing date is OCTOBER 31st 2006.

Don't forget there is a £25 Credit Note up for grabs.

I've slightly changed the heading of this listing, as I have a grand total of 5 entries, not much considering the number of Forum members, there's plenty of time left (31st October '06) , so have a go, or is it just lethargy, as I have had the same response before to my quizzes, it seems that only a handful wants £25 of films for nothing (well only 5 simple answers anyway!).

Hey, gee, can I put in another entry to make my chances even better? Hmmm?

signed OSI Osgood, er, some one you don't know who's never put in an entry before, yeah, that's it!

One last reminder, you've got 8 days left to have a go at my competition for a £25 CREDIT NOTE , but I've had such a pitiful response (about a dozen so far) up to now, all I can think is its just pure apathy, or does it hurt to use your brains for once, the only hardish question is No.1, and if you really think about it, the answer should come to you (a small clue, it's out on 8mm in 2 editions). I like setting competitions, I'm giving a pretty decent prize, even if you live outside the U.K. £25 must help, but the current response for a competition that's been running for about 7 weeks is really rather poor, come on you Forum members please have a go, if not I will have to think again about setting any future competitions.

Hello Barry
Thank you for bumping this one up as a reminder about your competition & draw - I always intended to have a try but forgot to do so until now - whilst I realise my current chances of winning are about 1:10 it would be nicer to hear that lots of other 8mm forum members have now entered having re-read your post - come on everyone why not go for it, five film trivia questions, one email to send and a bit of luck in the draw and you could be a winner.
Kevin

Barry

I've had a go at the quiz and whilst I'm not completely confident of all my answers, I've sent it off to you anyway!

Hey Barry, do you happen to have a scope print of Ben Hur, either 1X400 edition or the 3X400 edition?

Dear Osi,

Sorry Osi, haven't got a copy of "Ben-Hur" on my lists (except for a trailer or two) at the moment.

Barry.
