I've got a problem with the amplifer on this machine. When it's in the play position (forward with the lamp on) it makes a loud buzzing sound through the amplifier. Has anyone else ever encountered this problem? It also seems to have a problem holding the loop when projecting in reverse. Any info would be appreciated. I love this machine, especially since I got it for a song on eBay. Thanks in advance [Smile]

Hi Robert,

That humming could be down to misaligned hum cancellation coils.

You will see under the head block 2 yellow coils. With the machine on as you describe try moving these coils about for the least level of hum. There is one coil for each track.

There is no loop when in reverse play unless you meant the one at the top between the gate and the top sprocket. What symptoms are you getting on screen?

Kev.

Hi - what I'm seeing on screen is flutter up and down of the image when in reverse. This kind of looks like when a film is running in forward and it loses a loop, or when film has broken sprockets. Thanks for the advise on the amp problem, I can't wait to try it out. Thanks again

Bobby

Robert, does the upper loop of film touch the top guide when in reverse. The guide I mean is the one used for pushing down for autothreading.

Kev.
