Hey all,
It would be cool to have a list of all releases categorized by manufacturer/distributor. If you all could help, I'd love to host it on my site once the site itself is complete. Here's some if the names:

Marketing Films
Ken Films
Derann
Classic Home Cinema
Castle Films
Blackhawk Films

I don't know many Ken or Marketing purely because I own few by Ken and non by Marketing. I understand there are some rare ones in the way of Marketing and I know there other manufacturers/distributors. So just send me what ya got in a list or post here. Also looking for obscure or rare things too! I'll compile all the info and organize a list open to the public. If this catches on I could even make profiles for the films as well as an estimated price that would be updated. But one thing at a time [Big Grin]

This is quite a task you're launching yourself into, Ernie. But that could be interesting. Europe had lots of release companies.
Marketing Films was Germany-only as opposed to Marketing International which was for the rest of the world. Some titles were released only in Germany, other titles were available only in USA. Some Marketing titles were rebranded "Revue Film", but Revue also had "Piccolo" titles. Piccolo was the release company for Universal 8 in Europe but they also had some titles from Fox (usually released by Ken) - The Piccolo cut-down of The Omen is different from the Ken version, for instance...

Other companies that you might want to include:

Film-Office
Hefa Films
Technofilm
Avo Films
Revue Films
Eumig Films
Piccolo Films
Mountain Films
Walton Home Movies
Perry's Movies
Niles
UFA
Warner
Columbia
IFS
Elan Film
Quality Products
Universal 8 / Castle Films
Republic Pictures
Golden Classics
Les Grands Films Classiques
Major 8 Movies

And I'm sure I'm missing some of them...

Hi,

I started such a list sorted by country/langauge:
http://super8wiki.com/index.php/Who_released_Super8-prints
It'll contain some manufacturers, e.g. "DEFA Heimfilm", but even some of the companies listed above are missing. *sigh*

This was sort of an idea of mine, to compile a booklet of all the distributors and their wares - Mammouth undertaking - All the best, Ernie - Add CORNET, CARNIVAL, and I'm sure there are some I'll locate in my collection, Shorty

Just thought of another:

Top Film

This was a Dutch company, but most of their releases were in English with small Dutch sub-titles.

Also, ABC Films here in the USA, who released many of the classic Selznick Studio Films, such as Notorious, Rebecca, Spellbound, The Spiral Staircase, among others.

Racine Films
Niles Films
JEF Films
There were also numerous adult-oriented releases that I doubt anyone would be able to catalog (I personally don't thrive on collecting such "art?" but you do see them on EBAY from time to time before they yank them for obvious reasons).
