How many feet of film does a Bell & Howell 7" Auto Load takeup reel hold? I would guess 400ft, but i may be wrong. I can post pictures if it would help. It came with my Chinon 6100 projector.

Joshua,

Your guess is right!

thanks [Wink] . I looked all over ebay for a 600ft reel (maximum reel size for my projector) but had no luck [Frown] , but the longest film i own (i own only 8!) is Mickey's Memorable Moments (and my only sound film too), and is 400ft (it doesn't say this on the box, but the reel is the same size). I will post pictures of my films and list them in a new topic.

Joshua, don't worry, a 600ft reel isn't too difficult to find.
Most of the package movies from the 70s and 80s were spooled on 400ft reels, but some releases by UK companies (Derann, PM...) were on 600ft. Some features are also spooled on multiple 600ft reels (the original Star Wars, for instance, fills 4).
